on （ON）表示开。off （OFF） 表示关。
用于表示电器上的开与关的单词分别是
turn on ，简称on 开；
turn off，简称off 关。
如：
Please turn on the light.
请开灯。
Please turn off the radio.
请关上収音机。
电器上的电源开关也以标注on（ON），off （OFF）来表示开，关。
但开关门窗则须用open （开）close （关）来表示。如，
Please open the door ／window.
请开门／窗！
Please close the door ／window.
请关门／窗！
翻开书，合上书也要用open ／ close 。如，
Open your book at p. 35.
请打开你们的书翻到第35页。
